Ben's Base Travel 801

As the proud new owner of a TORQEEDO Base Travel 801, i connected it up to two deep cycle batteries and placed the engine in the dinghy ready for launching. In went the 12ft Purdon, i climbed aboard and quickly put the soft plastic "key" into its slot. There was a bit of swell so it wasn't long before i was being blown quickly towards the boat ramp. I clutched the black handle and hoped it would work as i looked at the rocks a few metres away. The motor purred in to action and off i went with a grin from ear to ear. I made a top speed of 5knots that day and came nowhere near using the capacity of my batteries.
More Engines To Arrive Soon!

More engines are on their way from germany so the wait is over for those with back orders.
Global Financial Crisis

As everyone knows we are experiencing an interesting time in global finances and unfortunately the torqeedo engine does not escape the wrath. As the motor is german we trade in euros and as everyone would know, this is fluctuating. Claude at torqeedo HQ (australia) is trying his damndest to keep the prices still but how long this lasts no one knows. Watch this space and the "euro" for indications of change.
